E-Commerce Website Revamp for a Fashion Retail Giant
A UK fashion retail giant with 80+ years of history and a footprint of 250+ stores across the UK and Europe, running the full chain from design and manufacturing through to offline and online sales.

Technologies Used
The Challenge
The client's high-traffic e-commerce platform ran on an ageing .NET stack, accumulating technical debt and risking performance issues at scale. It needed a modern foundation, a smoother checkout experience for customers, and backend services solid enough to trust at retail volumes.
The Solution
We migrated the platform from .NET to React.js and Node.js, then layered in features built to convert: Guest Checkout for account-free purchases, eReceipt for paperless, eco-friendly transactions, and Self Checkout APIs for in-store point-of-sale terminals. CommerceTools powered catalogue management and Talon. One ran promotions, while new AWS-based microservices (ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB) added auto-scaling and disaster recovery, and Stripe handled PCI-compliant payments. A full testing framework — unit, integration, and automated CI/CD via Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline — kept quality high through the rebuild.
The Results
- 30% faster platform performance, with server response times down 20%.
- 30% higher conversion and 20% less cart abandonment from Guest Checkout.
- 25% higher customer loyalty scores, plus roughly 100,000 sheets of paper saved a year via eReceipt.
- 35% faster in-store checkout through the new Self Checkout APIs.
- 40% more scalable backend, adapting quickly to shifting demand.
- 80%+ test coverage across the rebuilt platform.
