Technologies Used
The Challenge
Outdated security tools and processes were letting critical threats slip through, and legacy vulnerability scanning simply wasn't catching what mattered. The client needed a real overhaul — stronger threat protection, sharper incident response, and vulnerability management that could keep up.
The Solution
We replaced the client's ageing DAST tool with Intruder IO for higher-quality, better-detecting scans, and began deploying CrowdStrike EDR to strengthen threat detection and response. Around that, we built out a Defence in Depth strategy, upgraded incident response protocols, and put threat intelligence and OSINT to work spotting emerging risks early. We also cleaned up the incident management process itself — clearing outdated tickets and advising the client's MDR provider on better data handling — and aligned practices with OWASP standards throughout, using AWS to scale the security tooling as needed.
The Results
- Delivered: 70% fewer undetected threats, following the vulnerability scanning upgrade.
- Delivered: faster, cleaner incident resolution after overhauling ticket and data handling practices.
- In progress: CrowdStrike EDR rollout is in final testing and tuning.
- In progress: a full DevSecOps programme is under evaluation for the client's long-term roadmap.
