The Challenge
Uqoud's manual identity verification and signature workflows were labour-intensive, error-prone, and hard to scale as demand grew. They needed an automated eKYC and eSignature platform that met strict compliance standards without sacrificing a seamless end-user experience.
The Solution
We designed a distributed microservices architecture in Node.js that handles thousands of concurrent requests, each service independently deployable for minimal downtime. A React front end with websockets and server-sent events gives users live progress updates during identity verification, while an orchestration layer across PostgreSQL and Redis keeps data consistent for complex checks like fraud detection. A dynamic workflow engine automates the full process — document verification, identity validation, digital signature execution — with flexible rules that adapt quickly to new compliance requirements. Keycloak anchors a zero-trust security model with end-to-end encryption and granular access controls, Docker-based CI/CD keeps releases frequent and reliable, and an AI-driven fraud detection module flags suspicious patterns in real time.
The Results
